Who We Serve

Many of our services take place at community health fairs, school events, and seminars. For example, we give out resources and answer questions at fairs. We give instructional talks about asthma for the elementary and secondary school level. “Asthma in the Daycare Setting,” is our seminar for daycare personnel and parents.

Asthma Screenings

  • Pulmonary Function Testing is a breathing test that measure how well your lungs work. The patient performs a variety of breathing exercises that are not harmful and takes only about 15 minutes.
  • Asthma Control Testing is a scored questionnaire that results in awareness in the degree of control of a patient’s asthma

Childhood & Community Education

Students at day care centers and schools learn better when they feel well and secure. Positive Breathing works with children in childcare and school environments to help them better understand their asthma and better control their symptoms.

Community Educational Workshops and Events: Community classes for caregivers open to all members of the community; providing basic understanding of the disease, the symptoms, asthma devices, treatment and medication.

Case Management

Managing your illness can be overwhelming and confusing. Positive Breathing works with you to understand asthma and its impact on you and your family. Our staff will come to YOU to educate you on proper care and prevention of asthma symptoms, so that you can manage your family’s illness with ease and intelligence.

Supplies & Medication

We provide asthma devices for free, as available, such as peak flow meters and spacers (aerochambers)

We help families and caregivers apply for prescription assistance programs based on the pharmaceutical companies’ applications. We are not a pharmacy or doctors, but we ARE advocates for you to help save on costs of prescriptions.
